Absentee Ballots Announcement, Small Business Woman of the Year

The San Juan County Clerk's Office wants residents to double-check their absentee ballots for a printing error to ensure correct ballot delivery. 100% San Juan County wants to hear from you about access to basic family services. The County Clerk's Office noticed there was a printing error in the ballots where the return envelope for the ballot did not have the County Clerk's Office address printed. They was caught before most ballots were sent out and corrected. But if your ballot was in the first round, set out before the error was caught, you will need to address your ballot. All election mail, including absentee ballots, should be addressed to P.O. Box 550, Aztec, New Mexico 87410. Absentee ballots can also be returned in-person to the County Clerk's Office at 100 South Oliver Drive, Aztec, New Mexico. County Clerk Office staff have been working to contact registered absentee voters to inform them of the error. Local post offices, as well as the Albuquerque Post Office, have been informed of the error and arrangements have been made to ensure the proper delivery of already mailed ballots. San Juan College and Harvest Food Hub have received a grant for $910,000 for the construction of a commercial kitchen, the first of its kind in the county. The grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration is matched by over $230,000 in local funds to cover the cost of renovating the existing space at the Harvest Food Hub location, purchasing new equipment, training and technical assistance. The commercial kitchen will be available for public use after construction. Designs for the space have already been submitted and work is expected to take 12 to 15 months with an anticipated start date later this year. There was a special surprise in store for participants at the 2022 Four Corners Professional Women Summit. The first Business Woman of the Year Award was revealed and presented to Monica Schultz of The Chile Pod, a downtown staple restaurant known for its, you guessed it, chili. Schultz received the award after providing lunch for over 200 Summit participants and speakers at the event. Jamie Church of the Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Nate Duckett presented Schultz with a placard and words of praise for the work she's done with her restaurant, which opened in 2016 in Farmington.
