New Mexico lawmakers are running out of time to introduce bills during this legislative session. Representatives are about halfway through the first 60-day session and must have new legislation introduced by Thursday, February 20th. HB 307 or the Internet Privacy & Safety Act would require internet users to opt in before companies could collect personal information online. Three Democrats sponsored the measure, now in front of the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee. A bipartisan proposal allowing psilocybin for medical use passed its first vote last week. Psilocybin is the active ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms. If the Medical Psilocybin Act is enacted, patients could use a psychotropic under the guidance of a licensed professional. You can track the legislative session on the New Mexico Legislature website. The session ends March 22nd at noon. Work the donuts off your midsection before they even get there in the ultimate contrast of sweets and sweat.
