Community members are invited to participate in surface projects at various locations from 7:00 AM to noon on Saturday, September 13th for National Day of Service. The day encourages the community to serve locally in honor of those who serve our country, and those who were lost on nine 11 projects include a downtown Farmington cleanup project, painting the Magee Park Pig Barn, organizing donations at local nonprofits, and helping at the San Juan Medical Foundation walk-a-thon. Community members may join the four Corners Memorial nine 11 stair climb and 5K walk at 4:00 PM The stair climb matches the number of stairs in the World Trade Center towers destroyed during a terrorist attack on September 11th, 2001. The event supports fallen firefighters and their families for service project details. Visit nine 11 Day of Service US Aztec Ruins National Monument will host its annual indigenous cultural arts festival from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 13th. This free event will feature more than 30 artists, storytelling, live music, dance performances, and a cooking demonstration by blogger and cookbook author Alana Yazi. 10 indigenous tribes will be represented.
