Harvest Food Hub and Kitchen opened to the signups for its farm box subscription with the first pickup happening June 27th. The Aztec Speedway 72nd season has gotten off to a racing start. But don't fear there's still plenty of events to catch up before summer's ends. And San Juan Regional Medical Center has three new classes to help expecting parents and siblings prepare for the birth of a new child. You're watching the local news roundup, brought to you by Three Rivers Brewery and the Northern Edge Casino. I'm Sadie Smith. Harvest Food Hub and Kitchen will shortly start its third summer season of offering a food subscription box full of fresh produce from local farmers. Pickups will be Thursdays starting June 27th. Subscription offers range from weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly. This year, participants are asked to bring their own bag or box to the pickup, although there will be the option to purchase a refrigerated bag from the Harvest Hub. Additionally, the harvest market is now open Wednesdays from three to 6:30 PM and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Summer's here, which means Speedway season has begun. The historic Aztec Speedway kicked off its 72nd year in April with a full event calendar through October. Tickets range from $5 for kids to up to $20 for adults depending on events. Check the website for information about what to expect at events, as well as rules and expectations. San Juan Regional Medical Center is offering three new classes to help siblings prepare for the birth of a new family member. The first class introducing a sibling is for parents and covers topics like when and how to discuss a new pregnancy, and how to involve siblings at various age levels. The next class called Mommy is Having a Baby is geared toward preschool aged children and will be tailored to help them understand how to act around a baby. The third class is called I'm Going to Be a Big Sister or Big Brother, and is aimed at children ages five to seven. The class covers what might be expected of them as a big sibling and how to safely interact with the baby. These classes will be added to SJRC'S regular class routine. All childbirth classes are offered for free. Find the full list of classes online. Learn more about these and other stories online at farmingtonlocal.news.
